The Centre were given approx 70 soccer balls from a charity event at the weekend that was trying to break the record for the most soccer balls in a pile - the aim was over 5000. We're not sure if they broke it or not but were just happy to be given all these balls. Today we had the great pleasure of taking and giving some of the soccer/footballs to the three Bhekulwandlee schools. We gave 6 to each school and they were all so excited and so grateful for them especially the fact we were giving them six! Makes you realise how priviledged and well resourced our UK schools are in comparison.
Dr Made School is the equivalent of UK middle schools it cover Grade 5 to (I think) Grade 7 or 8 so roughly 10-14yr olds. This is all the children watching - I think it was break time.
This is the high school for ages 14-18yrs. A lot of the chidren here were sitting end of term exams. The Grade 12's (final year) have exams now from which the results are used for them to apply for university.
This is the school for Grade R (reception) to Grade 4 so roughly 5-10yr olds. The staff were very excited by the soccer balls

and then proceeded to play with the new balls with the children afterwards - it was a lovely atmosphere
Everyone came out and joined in - there were children everywhere!
Children, from our kids and youth programmes at the centre, attend all these schools and it was great to see them all as we travelled round.
